as with all instroments, starting off will tough. For sax, you have to learn the fingerings, develop your embuchure. Of course, just practice and you`ll get it down fine.
It takes years to get good; don`t expect to be beautiful sounding at first, or even for years.

It`s really easy to make a sound on the sax, unlike some other instrument like the flute. If you put your mouth on the mouth piece and blow, sound comes out. Not hard at all. Because it`s so easy to make a sound on the sax, it is one of the loudest instruments. Even though making a sound is easy, making a good sound is hard. It takes practice for you to get a good tone. BTW, don`t be like most stupid saxophone players who confuse volume with goodness.

Hey W,
good points about the sax. However, in my schools, i`ve found that it`s the trumpets who mistake loud for beautiful, not the saxes. I guess they come with all instruments. Unfortuantly.

Do you have a teacher, or anyone who knows what they`re doing?
