Hey guys, I wanted to get a soprano, andI know Yamaha and the Belmer are two of the bests, but they are too expensive. I was wandering if anyone has gotten this kind of soprano and who he/she would think about it... I saw this on EBay, it`s made by Schill, a German instrument company, and it costs less than $300. Can anyone give me any suggestions?
here`s the link to the sax i liked.

They did have a warranty, that was good; you could`ve sent it back if it was bad... I don`t think they ever mentioned the serial # though...
Good luck

Well, I meant that many of the saxaphones that are made in china are not made well, and are cheap. (example Monique) Of course, not all of them are, but it`s best to research and know what your getting.

yes I understand. I was just kidding. But it is true that China makes good gold instruments and sells them cheap. I think Schill is made in Germany orsomething like that...

The best inexpensive soprano sax I know of is the woodwind brand from the woodwind and brasswind. ($549)

I would not recommend saxes from ebay. The pro players and repair people who have actually played them tell me to stay away.

Hi
Ive just won an auction on ebay for a sop (stagg) and got it for £170 + postage from a guy called politepete. Have seen them retailing on various sites for over 500 euros. He runs a music shop in brighton and sells loads of these. I would recommend him very highly as he is very quick and as his name suggests is very polite.
If you are new to using a sop then dont spend too much until you are sure that you like it. Having said that I love mine ( I want a Bari next but getting married this year so that will have to wait!!!)
Keep Blowing

Dave
