I play tenor also, hard notes are hard at first, but youll get better. just lower your jaw, but warning, when you get real good at low notes, real high notes get hard. so practice the notes you use most often ^^

an alto is smaller than a tenor. it is in the key of Eb

Your jaw should already be lowered so that answer is not exactly correct. You need to get your throat open, all the time not just for low register. I've found the best way to teach someone this is to have them get a 3/4 inch pvc pipe. Put it in your mouth and seal it with your embochure and take deep breaths in and out. It forces your throat to be open and you'll see how it should always feel.

Once you get the correct embochure low notes will not be a problem.

Did not see all of the pages. The guy at the bottom of the next to last page said it right. Your throat should be VERY open. At first this will be very uncomfortable if you're doing it correctly, almost a choking sensation but you will get used to it and your tone will sound like a saxophone is supposed to sound. Don't forget your new best friend the pvc pipe.
