I was just discussing with my friends today about Kenny G and his music. In particular, the incredibly disrespectful money-driven thing he did of overdubbing himself playing soprano sax over Louis Armstrong`s "What a wonderful world." For him to play his fuc*ed up, crappy, pseudo-bluesy s*it (quoting Pat Metheny) with one of the greatest jazz musicians ever to have existed just demonstrates to me just how much of a fake, money driven popular copy musician he is.
I welcome your comments.
Read Pat Metheny`s essay about Kenny G:

One thing about Kenny G, that all saxophonists should get through our head, whether we like him or hate him. He knows how to sell music to the general public. He is the #1 selling instrumentalist (notice I did not say Jazz artist). What us sax players have figured out is that he learned certain licks and circular breathing to make him sound better than he actually is. What most jazz musicians problem with him, is that the music industry called him jazz when he should be considered easy listening, thus he gives a bad name to jazz, or makes jazz out to be something that it was never designed to be. When it all comes down to it he knows how to make money and what the public wants.
And what he did on the Wonderful World track really made me sick.
Later
PS the argument on Kenny G is getting pretty stale.

Read Pat Metheny`s essay about him, and you will see why we dislike him more than Britney Spears. If I can`t explain it well enough, then Pat sure can.
