It`s SO nice, I love it. I started playing because there was a shortage of tenors in our band about two weeks ago and now I LOVE it. But it feels real strange going from Alto to Tenor because of the size different...do any of you guys find that?

Also, which sax do you believe is better for jazz? Because I honestly think the tenor is better because of its rich and vibrant sound. Please don`t compare artists and say "This person is famous for jazz and he plays blah blah blah", I just want to know from your personal experience.

I started on a Tenor and when I started to play Alto, about a year ago, it found it a little weird going back and forth between the two but after a while you`ll get used to it.

I agree, Tenor is much better for Jazz than Alto. It just has that jazzy sound that an Alto doesn`t.

I told you, that you would like it . Tenor has a real smooth sound that is hard not to love, and playing in the lower register gives it a real, (hmmm best way I can say it) sexy sound. Glad you are liking it.
I mainly play Tenor, even for classical, but I still play Alto just to keep up with it. It takes me a little while to get used to the embouchure change but after that I`m fine.

Good Luck to you

In my opinion neither sax is better or worse for Jazz, they both have their place. In my opinion I like to hear a Tenor with a acustic Jazz Trio (sax, bass, drums), and quartet (add piano). I like to hear Alto with a more electrical sound (add guitar and electric keys). That is my personal opinion, but both Tenor and Alto have their place, and where would a big band be without a Bari.

The alto can be just as jazzy as the tenor. Just listen to Charlie Parker, or Cannonball Adderly. It takes talent to get that kind of a sound out of the alto, as does playing 32nd notes at 300 bpm (aaahhh!!!), but that`s beside the point.

Tenor is definitely one of the best Jazz instruments. Ofcourse I am biased for Bari though. I just love the deep sound, and I think it sounds jazz like. Honestly I don`t beleive alto belongs in jazz, but its still a fun intrsument.
