i own a yanagisawa 991 tenor in black laquer, i play mainly jazz with this horn. i was looking around online and started thinking about getting a new neck for my sax, and i was thinking one from a yanagisawa 9930, this is in silver. has anyone here seen a black sax with a silver neck before? i think it would give it a bigger and more edgy sound, but i dont want it to look extreamly stupid either. could you please respond with your opinion on a black sax with a silver neck. thanks

I don`t know. I have a silver C-melody, but I don`t think the laquer/silver changes the tone much, if at all. At least, I don`t think black laquer does. Does silver change the tone?
