I`m thinking about purchasing a Selmer Series III tenor. I was wondering how different finishes (i.e. silver-plated, black lacquer, etc.) affect the sound of the horn. If it helps, I`m looking for a nice, bright sound.

I know that on Saxophone Corner through www.selmer.com they have had long discussions on how finish affects your sound. I recommend visiting that site and seeing what you can dig up.
