To the person having trouble with low notes: Try using a much gentler breath, like a sigh. The low notes on many instruments need more air and support; it's almost the opposite for recorder.

just cuz recorders r easy doesn't mean they aren't an instrument. besides, if u play them right, they have a great sound that isn't squeaky. maybe the guy who started this thread just had a cheap recorder.
