Hi sorry I'm not bigst1990 but I am a recorder player and I work in a music shop so I get to know the different books around. Unfortunately most of the books are aimed at children as you can imagine like Abracadabra.
I would really recommend the dolmetsch site:
http://www.dolmetsch.com/method.htm
The whole site is just awesome and it's really aimed at adults or serious learners so I think it would suit you. Also if you can already read music or have some understanding it means you can take it at your own pace without feeling you've wasted your money, because it's free!
