don't think the type of wood makes any difference at this stage of its rejuvenation. If it was wax impregnated 30 years ago, the wax probably is not too effective any more.
It should be oiled. Go to
http://www.bill-lazar.com/, Go to "Recorder Oiling" in the "FAQ/Information" box on the left. His information will get you through that process better than I could explain it.
The cork or waxed thread gasketing at the joints should have "cork grease" applied. Probably quite liberally if it has been sitting for that many years. You can get the product at most musical instrument stores.
You probably are aware that you should go through the "break-in" playing process with such an old, but unused instrument. You will also find information on that on Bill Lazar's site under "Recorder Care".
