I have just seen a tenor recorder with a double hole, fifth hole down from the top. I have never seen this type before, is there an advantage to doubling this hole ?

Sorry folks, I have made a mistake on the post I have just put up. The extra double hole is the fourth from the top, not the fifth. It is for the index finger right hand.
