Hello,
I'm looking for some arrangement of Vivaldi's Four Seasons for recorders (recorder quartet the best or SA(T)+piano might be even better). Do you have any idea where to get something like that? I'm completely excited from this performance: http://www.classicalarchives.com/album/713746715328.html :-)
Thanks!
Karel

These arrangements are published by Noetzel. I have Spring and Winter, both for quartet. The Spring is for AAAB, with the last movement for the soprano. The Winter is SATB. There also is a very nice arrangement of Vivaldi's concerto in C-Major by the Amsterdam Loeki Stardus Quartet, published by Moeck.

You can check magnamusic.com for availability. Magnamusic is the largest distributor of recorder music in the U.S. They supply music to most of the shops in the U.S. All these pieces are pretty virtuosic and need a well seasoned group to play them

Hello,

in the mean time I've purchased Jean Casignol's arrangement of Spring[1] and when it got to me by post I've been surprised to see that it is the "Noetzel Edition". Also it is AAAB + on same places AATB and SATB. So I guess we're talking here about the same sheets. Thanks for your information about this. I'm well still recorder beginner but I like sometimes to see something more complex especially if I like the music that much like in case of Vivaldi. I'm certainly not going to work on the piece as a whole, but rather just play some snippets of it. For example beginning of III. Alegro Danza pastorale on soprano till you need to "Nimm die Altblockflete" is something I'd like to pursue. :-)

By the way, my recorder teacher told me that sometimes some arrangements are "lucky" and sometimes some are "unlucky" (means not that good), what's your opinion about Mr. Cassignol's work, are they lucky or unlucky?

Thanks!
Karel

The arrangements are very good and we are "lucky" to have them. Maybe one day you will have friends to play it with you.
