That means you have to have more than one recorder. Most recorder music comes in SATB form.

S = Soprano (descant) recorder
A = Alto (treble)
T = Tenor
B = Bass
And when there is more than one note on either line, it means that you have to have that number of recorders. Or else, you can just omit the not so important notes.

There has been some interesting workshops from time to time with people either humming or singing (can`t really work that one out) while playing their recorder. The tone of the played note is a little strange but with young school students you could excite a little experimentation with them humming to make chords.
As you have probably found out most music is written for multiple instruments though.

You need at least three recorders to play chords. For example, use your root note. Let`s say you want to play an A. The first recorder will play the note "A". The next note in A Major would be "C". Then the third note "E". Use this formula with the scale:
Root Note + 1 1/2 steps + 2 steps=Root Note Major.

I believe you spelled the A major triad wrong. It would be A, C#, and E. The chord you spelled, A, C, E, would be the A minor triad.
I agree with the rest of the posters. Your music is likely for multiple recorders.
