for hubby. What are the pros and cons for wood and plastic (other than the price). I don`t know much about this and need some pointers. What is best and why? thanks!

I don`t have a tenor yet, but I assume these things will hold true regardless...

My wood recorder has a sound that carries much farther than my plastic one. Wow, it can get loud when I practice outside!!! It echoes through canyons and parking lots and makes everyone wonder where the music is coming from

But, I find it more difficult to hit the highest notes in the second octave on the wood one (this may be because I spend more time on other instruments and if I gave the wood recorder more attention, I could hit those notes more consistantly).

Those are the two factors that determine which I will play a given song on. How loud I want to be and which notes I want to hit. Personally, I like the sound of the wooden recorder the best.

Good luck picking one out that your husband will like.
