I had to play a recorder at school 3 years ago but I want to start again but the music we had, well, 1st graders cold play it without any trouble. I need something more exciting but not too hard. Any recommended songs?

Go check out the music stores (I mean the ones with actual books and sheet music -- not the "Best Buy" variety) and look for beginner to intermediate piano books.
Many of these arrangements can be easily adapted to recorder, and leave plenty of room "to grow" if you`re serious about becoming an accomplished recorder player.
And, listen to CDs. Baroque music often has recorders since much of it was originally intended to be played on recorders.
Or, go to Amazon and search for CDs with recorders. You can listed to the free samples to hear really accomplished players. I know it gives ME something to aspire to!

If you have some friends over and learn the lyrics We Will Rock You can be really fun. It is really simple too.
