Hi I have been wanting to learn a woodwind instrument for a while I play congas and ukulele I cant read music.

I have a treble Yamaha recorder plastic and like the tone of it over the descant but I am confused as to what I could play on it and what range it would have in regards to playing some modern worship songs in my church band or some popular songs

I have been considering the clarinet but it scares me a little with the reed setting up and all those levers

I have found a teacher who can learn me either clarinet or recorder and also a local recorder group who one of the members has offered to teach me.

my local music shop sells both instrumnts ad was considering going down today to purchase a descant

Any advice would be great thanks mark

I sse this is not a very active forum for recorders maybe a lot of lookers but not many talkers , I will go and try somewhere else
