I'm a beginning/intermediate Alto player and have found free scores for flute that are within the Alto range, but the trills are more suited to a soprano recorder. Is it common to ignore the awkward trills in such a case (for example a trill written for 2nd octave g). I know there are alternate fingering, but the problem is common when playing C-based song on an F-based instrument. Do Alto players just grit their teeth and handle the trills, or what?
