My rock band is thinking about playing Stairway To Heaven and would love to try to play the recorder parts. We were hoping we could find some sheet music rather than try to figure out the parts. I think there are three parts but we could get by with two if that`s all someone knew. If I have to learn the parts the hard way I will post the results of my effort here when I am finished.

I`m in the same boat. I`m trying to learn the recorder parts by ear. Definitely takes an alto recorder. I was also thinking of getting the sheet music, but you`re right, not easy to find. I did find a concert score of Stairway at music44.com. Not sure, but it MIGHT have the recorder part, since it is a concert score. I might buy it and see. If I do, I`ll post again and let everyone know. Also, if I figure out the recorder part myself, I`ll also post and if anyone wants, I`ll email the music.

Stairway To Heaven Flute bit.

Hi, I decided to work out the flute part on Stairway To Heaven by Led
Zeppelin on keyboard as I could not find it on the net anywhere, and
it sounds great when you play it as backing with guitar! I think this
sounds about right if you think its wrong send me a mail.

The notes are: (im afraid you will have to work out some timing!)
Each dash represents one beat so four dashes is a bar etc etc.
1.) (starts after the guitar intro) E----C----A----DEE
2.) then.... E--F#--AGFE EE--G--GAA
3.) then (fast!)....E-AGGF#ED-A-B-C-CDE--D--GAA (finishes at 52
seconds and then Plant starts singing)

A----G----E--C----DEE

E--A----A----GAA

And those three sequences are repeated in various orders throughout
the acoustic guitar part of the song more or less, but you can work
out what order and where by ear! I have no idea if you can play those
notes on like a proper flute or not but it sounds good on a flute
type sound on a keyboard!

I didn`t find a good tab either so I worked it out myself.

This is the flute part for Stairway To Heaven From Led Zeppelin, but it can be played on the guitar as well off course.
It’s my first tab but 4’m sure it’s completely correct.

First, the guitar play’s his “riff” one time, then the flute starts
