I am a 22yr old professional vocal coach/singing teacher from Surrey. I teach at my home in Ash, Surrey.

Any age, any skill level (beginners - professionals welcome!) and any style of singing taught. Gemma lets students choose their own songs from a huge selection of backing tracks - learn the songs YOU want to learn. Gemma teaches mainly contemporary singing, but can teach a wide range of styles - rock/pop music, r 'n' b, jazz, rap, show songs...

Even if you are at a more mature age, and want to sing, but have never tried it before, Gemma can offer understanding and helpful lessons.

She will teach breathing, relaxation, confidence building, vocal warm ups, scales, vocal tecnhiques, projection, dynamics, articulation, pitch, finding your range and building your range, singing with emotion, mic technique, recording your voice and listening back, performance skills, improvisation, how to smooth out the passagio and much more! You will also learn how to sing full length songs of your choice.

Gemma can assist professionals before a gig, or people wanting extra help before an audition.

Auditioning for X Factor? or another TV Singing Programme? - Gemma can help you with a crash course in vocals leading up to your big audition and help you on your way to giving a polished audition piece.

Taking GCSE Music and need help with singing for part of your coursework or exams? - Gemma can assist you in developing your voice so that you achieve the best grade you possibly can.

An annual student Vocal Showcase Workshop is held at the beginning of each year which enables students to show off their developing skills to friends and family at a private theatre show.

Singing Workshop- £30

This 1 day workshop will take place on Saturday 5th August 10am- 4pm at The Princes Hall Theatre, Aldershot, Hampshire in the Edinburgh Suite.

You will learn breathing, exercises and warm ups, vocal techniques, diction, dynamics, improvisation, harmonies, microphone technique, how to learn songs, as well as sing full length songs. There will be chances to sing solo parts, as well as work as part of a group.

There will be an hours lunch break - where you can have lunch in the town centre, which is just minutes walk away. Unfortunately no food is allowed to be brought into the theatre. Sorry.

This workshop is aimed for anyone, and any age. There are no restrictions!

A non-refundable deposit of £10 is required to secure your place.

Live Performance Workshop - £70

This workshop will be a one day event from 1.30-7.30pm - Saturday 14th October at The Ash Centre, Ash, Surrey.

It will end in an evening performance starting at 6.30pm. Friends and family can attend the performance.

The workshop will be with a professional live band (guitar, bass, keys and drums)

- You will have the chance to prepare a solo song before you come, and practise the song live with the band, and I will give feedback to help you polish the performance to your best ability. You can then decide if you want to perform your solo song live that evening, or not. No one will be forced to do anything they aren't comfortable with. Singing solo is not-compulsory. During the workshop we will learn one group song that will be performed as part of the evening performance - singing in the group song is compulsory.

The workshop will also cover breathing, warm ups, improvisation and more. There will be a question and answer session also to ask the band anything you like. And you will learn how to lead the band as a vocalist, microphone technique, sound levels, and lots of important information regarding live performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for all amateur, and semi-professional singers!

There are only a maximum of 14 places for this workshop.

If you want to have a bit of fun, and have some experience with a live band then this is a workshop you can't afford to miss!

Contempo - Surrey's Pop Choir

Contempo is a modern choir who perform contemporary songs. The choir is run and vocal coached by Gemma Denman, a professional singer and coach.

All ages and skill levels welcome!

You don't have to be able to read music and NO audition is required to join!

Contempo will rehearse at The Ash Centre, Ash Hill Road, Ash, Surrey.
