I say go for it! There's nothing more rewarding than overcoming your fears!

I notice that you play piano - you might try doing a song that you can accompany yourself on, so you can do one thing you're comfortable with while stepping out into something you're a little afraid of.

Hi! I know exactly how you feel!!! About a year ago I was soooo shy, and I loved singing. I wouldn't even sing in front of my best friend.

But then I began to think, if people say I've got a good voice, then I should show it off....and as I love doing it, I've got nothing to lose!!! So, I got into singing a duet with my friend, and we each did solo parts in our song, and we got into a music concert!

I can tell you, singing in front of people is the most amazing feeling in the world. I'm still so shy around people when I talk, but when I sing, I'm not shy at all, and I just get lost in the music and the lights and everything. To be honest I hardly notice anyones there watching!!!

If you're too shy to jump into singing in concerts and stuff, why not try singing in front of friends and family first? This way you can gradually get used to performing to people.....or you can do what I did and jump into the deep end and go from singing in front of a about 5 people, to singing to 300.....and it's probably worse singing to 5, because you can see them staring at you, whereas with loads of people they all just become a blurr!!!

Good luck with the singing, I hope I was of some help to you

Love Laura
XxX

Same here! Well, i'm still shy about singing. It's singing in front of people and having confident to sing high notes. I recently got a voice teacher and she said i'm a soprano! i was like 0.0! My voice range is Middle C and 5 notes up. ..G!
i was shocked.
i reallized i NEED so much air for the high notes. but it's still hard because all my life i've never sang high notes confidently. heehee
that's my story!
