I started singing about six years ago and my voice sounded good. About a year ago my voice cracked and i can;t sing as well any more. Is their any way to fix that or am i stuck with this voice? Any ideas of what i should do because my friends signed me up for a musical at my school and im nervous that my voice will crack bad this time.

hmmm, what exactly do you mean by cracking? Do you mean breaking, like a guys voice? or did something happen to your voice which has made it change? if its the former, theres not much you can do, you just have to live it thru and still work on your voice but not too hard. if its the latter, then don't demand too much of your voice. just relax and gradually work your voice up and it should be good again soon. it may not be the same as it was, but it will still be good.

what i mean by cracking is when i go to sing high notes I start to choke and i get out of tune. yeah kind of like guys too. no offence to the guys.
so i should just practice and work on my voice to get better?

when i got over strep throat and couldnt sing the high parts at all my voice would crack like yours.. i took tobasco sauce annd many hot sauces that we have lying around our house, and i mixed it all together. If you have a weak stomach i wouldnt suggest this! I drank it all...and believe it or not my voice was normal again! although i was running to the bathroom all day with a rumbly in my tummy. good luck!

Yeah, if its just like a sore throat, be gentle and keep up practising. But if its something more, check your voice range. if you can get high notes, thats gr8, your soprano but if you cant get too high, don't stress, you might only be a mezzo sop or alto. Keep practising and increasing your range, both high and low and just be comfortable with your own voice, coz its urs and no one elses. Keep working on it and it will get better.
God bless

Thank you guys for your help. a couple weeks ago i couldn't sing Only Hope by mandy moore and now i can hit all the notes almost purfectly. i tried at my dance last saturday. i was asked to sing it at my friends birthday party this saturday. i think i almost have my voice back. i didn't try that hot sauce thing by i did drink hot cider and hot drinks. coffee didn't really help so i stoped drinking that for a little while i love coffee anyways i learned a new way to "fix" my voice if i every get sick again and lose it.
but anyways thank you to all of you and your wondful advice. Its great to know that all singers help each other.
thank you again and i hope that none of you get sick and have to stress over your voice.
oh... and the musical worked out too. i didn't get the main part but i got the second best so i still et to sing alot
