i have been wounderin gfor a while if their is anyway that a person could have a bad vocal range?

it is a strange thing because i think my little sister has a great voice but when ever she sings high notes or low ones her voice goes wierd. i think that might have nothing to do with vocal range. lol

anyways so yeah. i was just wondering

well, it depends on a few things. 1) your sister may only be a mezzo soprano and 2) how old she is. if shes less than about, lets say 20 years old, her voice will still be developing, just like the rest of her. my vocal teachers say its hard to determine exactly what voice range you are until you get older (i'm still in highschool). but i dont think there is any one thing that actually stops a person from having a good vocal range. some people are more talented so just be glad with what you have ( coz some people cant sing at all). God Bless

"( coz some people cant sing at all).

Everyone can sing it's just a matter of ability...

No, i have actually heard someone who has a vocal range of one note... and she was more saying it than singing. so yes, some people can't sing. you may beg to differ, but its tru.

yeah, practising breathing patterns and routines of breathing for higher or lower notes so on. i'm a year on of training myself, i'm almost seventeen, and my vocal range has radically changed. Where as before i had trouble hitting the notes to some songs, now i breeze past them and have the ability to make them my own. If you really get into it, it's brilliant

Twelve is actually very young. Actually, too young to start voice lessons according to many voice teachers. I wouldn't worry too much about range at this point. Her voice is still changing (girls, as well as boys, undergo a change in the physiology of the vocal instrument during puberty), and you don't want to risk ingraining any bad habits by overdoing it. Usually, after 14 is a good age to start voice training. Before that, I'd just work on musicianship, perhaps take up an instrument like guitar or piano, learn to read music, and keep physically healthy.

Good luck!
