I am working up the nerve to audition for small part in a musical in a couple of months. The character has one solo song and one with 2 or 3 other characters. I haven't been singing very long so I don't have a very large selection of songs I would feel comfortable auditioning with. Is it better to pick a song of similar style and tempo to the one in the play or one I have more experience singing?
