Hello to all, first of all. I'm new here but I've seen many interesting topics and comments so I decided to join in.
I'm the lead singer in a hard rock band, and although my previous experiences with singing involved choir singing and backing vocals, I'm quiet satisfied with what I'm able to do. However, there are some (rather many) aspects of the singing that are still out of my control. For instance: luckily I've never had troubles when performing live, reaching all the notes without strain, but it often happens that while rehearsing with the band (and sometimes in the recording studio) I encounter some difficulties, also with notes that I normally sing effortlessly. I've tried to focus on my breathing, but I've noticed it's better for me "not to think too much". I reckon it could be that I need to "untie" myself somehow and maybe the feeling of the live environment helps me in that.
What do you think about that?
Thanks in advance for your posts.
Keep on rockin'
