Hello!
I was just wondering if anyone might have some tips or perhaps even excercises that help incease the power you give your voice. Singing is going really well but for some reason I can only get so loud while everyone else makes it look so easy and natural. I had been taking lessons and learned alot but sadly had to stop. I want to overpowr my piano for once!!!

hi, I'm not a pro but I did some coir and canto back in high school and I use to have the same problem. I guess the problem is more about how you feel than your capacities. Is something like you are afraid to let the sound out so the body is blocking it. You could try to sing in a soundproof area- personal I would recommend an outdoor location where no one can here you. you just have to breath deeply and try to relax. when you can hear your voice loud and clear in an outside location, than you will be able to relax and let it go even at your practice.
Hope it was helpful .

It's important the remember not to try and manufacture power with the vocals chords themselves. Pushing will only strain the voice and may actually decrease your ability to project. The key to singing louder is to focus your energy toward creating resonance by raising the soft palate and relaxing your tongue and jaw. You must also work on breathe control and velocity which will help as well.
