Hey everyone. I recently opened an online musical instrument store. I'll omit the link because I don't want this to be a sales pitch (although, if you want the link, feel free to ask). I've been going through quite a few other music forums and asking why I'm not getting any traffic and further more why folks that are coming to my site aren't purchasing anything. The general response is that the music industry is hurting as a whole. Apparently the recession has turned musical instruments into a luxury item. Granted that it's not something that is required to live, but definately something that would be highly rated in the "want" category. Would you all agree that the recession has hit us in the music field as hard as other industries?

Thanks!

Greg

I think I bought some stuff from you a bit back. I do R&B Beats and Instrumentals from home and you shipped it out in no time. Thanks bro. Good website!

I am a singer and I have a lot of friends who are also struggling with lack of bookings due to recession.
I sing pop and MOR music, but am classically trained. There is more money in pop for general audiences than there is in classical.
If you'd like to listen to me, I have a website at www.victoria-clarke.com where you can hear my classical crossover stuff.
I hope you enjoy it,
All the best,

Vickie x

If any singers are struggling for work, you might try making sure you are connected with plenty of entertainment agencies - here's one - border leisure

And if you are struggling for traffic to your website - may be the site needs to be optimized and linked into the net properly - I can handle that for you at - Handy Web Design Wales

It's all about the networking! Especially during a recession! I would recommend talking to the schools in your area, or anywhere since it's a website. See what it would take for them to recommend you to their students, since that is a big part of your target market. Maybe offer a student discount, or a discount to a particular school.
