Hello everyone,
I would love your advice. I've been singing since I can remember myself. I had vocal lessons for almost five years, including classical training, jazz etc. The thing is that no matter how hard I try to stay in a band, it is impossible. I am either kicked out or I leave due to disagreements about the playlist, for instance, they wanted me to sing like James Hetfield. Keep in my mind that I am a woman and my voice is not hoarse. So I always ended up begging them to change the playlist and they didn't. I am really sick of it. I've been always been into metal and rock and there are many bands that they are female fronted but from where I come from there is none. I'm really !***!ed off and I am starting to feel insecure. I get so anxious because of it that most of the times I can't give 100% of my potentiality. I am not saying that I am the perfect singer ( I'm pretty sure no one is) but I want to be given a chance to prove myself. A few days ago they kicked me out the day after we had arranged a rehearsal (we had 3 in total) saying that " you have a beautiful and well-trained voice but you don't fit in our band". I am really disappointed . I feel like quitting. Everyone tells me not to. I've tried other genres but it just doesn't feel right. Do you believe that I shouldn't quit searching? Do I have any other alternative options?
Thank you in advance and sorry for the long post.....

Drawing and singing are just such kinds of art that must make you feel relax. Singing is a great joy when you like what you sing.

This is also something that everyone tells me. That I am supposed to have fun and that I take things too seriously. I guess at least I need a break from all this mess. Thank you!!!

I'd have to hear you but sometimes classical and jazz training don't lend themselves well to the "edge" required in a hard rock sound.

A more contemporary technique might help you develop your voice to fit lots of different genres, rather than be married to one. The end goal being that you can hit any note with any tone that you want, so you can have your pick of genre, songs, keys etc...
