like what type of techniques? like special things on the french horn?
like a "gliss" or something? like vibrato maybe?

vibrato`s nice on the french horn, but most instruments can do that... are you asking for horn specific techniques, or what? I`d think the tuning with the right hand is pretty distinct too, as well as muting?

Hmmmm. Well those are two of the most obvious french horn techqinues, both fairly easy. I taught them to myself. Lets see, Double and Triple Tounging, something I learned on the trumpet. Here`s a good list that I found:
