i am only a young frnch horn player and i have to do a solo in front of the class and i am not really that good at it yet. the reason i am not good at it is because i can never make my mouth into thr right shape to make a good sound. it keeps bobing back and forth between pitches.
help me please

not the right mentality mr. procrastinator! You should have practiced your buzzing when you first picked up the horn. As for your mouth problems, do lots of buzzing on the mouthpiece so you get a feel for it. keep doing this until the lips become complacent with buzzing and make sure the lips are correctly in place.

hey, a good way to develope strength in your chops is to play a note, not too high to start, maybe a middle C, and slowly bring the mouth piece off your lips until you hear a buzzing sound, you don't even need to bring the mouth piece right off your lips to begin with, as long as you hear and feel the buzz!!!! then when you're comfortable with that try expanding up the register and bringing the mouth piece fully off your lips, but make sure you hold the pitch of the nore and are comfortable. If you start to loose the pitch do not pull the mouthpiece any further off your lips.
Good luck.
