Hello All. I'm from CO and new to 8notes. I recently got accepted to Colorado's Continental League Orchestra on Horn for the second year in a row and will try out friday for CU's HIgh School Honor Band. I love doing this kinda stuff because it offers a level of focus on the student level that school bands can not; Plus it entails a lot of good times. Which brings me to my topic. I want to hear about the good, bad, frustrating and funny times people have had in school bands, drum cores, or anything else. So let's hear 'em!
Peace Out

I've had some good band geek times, although not on horn. In marching band I'm on drumline. What can I say? I'm noninstrumental (non is in the latin or greek or something word for nine). My most geeky memories are of long bus rides. Singing band songs we make up, playing weird band games, forcing people to put their instruments away, and singing through our show. Other treasured memories include rehersals in the rain and spending most of food breaks playing instruments. Band people are weird people.

That person above me is the best!!!!Cause those are my fondest memories of marching band.I play in drumline 2.It's ok.But I'm constantly being yelled at for the other guys mistakes,and I can't do anything about it.Except for,I put 90% of the instruments away and putting them back on the bus.God my back hurts from that!!!!!LoL Marching Band rules.Hope you made honor band.A ton of kids at my school made it.

Congrats =D

I love being a band geek. I'm the only one in both concert band and marching band playing french horn/mellophone (we're kinda small), my teacher's like "You have infinite power over me, along with the tuba". That made my laugh. Marching Band = Love. Especially when you get adopted into the sax section, longggggg story. But yeah. Band = Life.
