My dad was a french horn player and also a bit of a collector/pack rat. After he passed away the family sold his shiny brass horns but one poor specimen was left behind and I have been holding on to it for years. It is stamped with The Boston Musical Instrument Manufactury. There is no serial number, so I understand it was probably made prior to 1880. It is not in the greatest of shape. I can find very little information on the internet regarding its worth and have no idea if it is worth restoring or if I should try to shine it up, etc.
Can anyone point me towards someone who would know? I would greatly appreciate any feedback!
