Hello,
I play the horn for about 25 years now. I bought a second hand Alex104 recently. Now I have some troubles with hitting a few notes. I think the reason is the position of my mouthpiece. The vertical position is ok, but my horizontal position is bad. I play about 1,5cm away from the middle of the center of my lips. Does anyone has experience with this? Could it have an influence on my playing? Hitting the notes better? Improve my sound? I have tried to play in the middle of my lips but it feels like the first lesson in horn playing, pretty hard.

Your embouchure is off-centre. It isn't really good generally for the playing and it usually happens when players try to hit high notes and use mouth pressure and straining the facial muscles around the embouchure.
It is better to go through this with a 1:1 teacher who will give you good, basic and strong fundamentals.
I myself play offcentre but not an extreme like 1.5cm off centre, I am only a few mms off.

take a look here: http://www.wilktone.com/. There is plenty about embouchure, not strictly on French horn but I think it also gives good ideas for the horn.
I would not say that 50-50 % mouthpiece position is best, but I am just an amatour palyer. Do not trust me but take a good look at the website above.
