That sounds good! I"m just glad pep band is over with here. I hate high school pep band! College pep band is way better!

The major thing I hate about it is when we have to travel for tournaments. I mean, our state has the most counties, so it probably doesn't take as long to get from county to county as it would in other states. Also we're, I believe, the only state that has schools actually named like "(Insert county name here) County High School" Sometimes we have like Central, Northern, or Southern schools dependind on how big the county is.

Miniature tuba! I know there's a difference between baritone and euphonium, but what is it?

They're a smaller version of a tuba, but they produce a trombone-like sound. I hate both of them.

Hey, I'm Megan. I want to play sousaphone in marching band this fall. I have experience on trumpet if that helps at all. Should I start directly on a sousaphone or play tuba first? Thanks.

Unless if you feel you can handle learning to play and march at the same time. That's basically what I did the first year I marched Sousa.

But I applaud those who tackle both at the same time. Its not easy, but it can help you as a player to be able to jump at anything when you are needed.

i personally hate sousaphones. haha. they are easy to carry and fun to dance with but other than that...BOO!! unless they are 4-valved sousaphones...ive never played one but id imagine that there would be less tunin problems than the 3-valve sousaphones. i like concert tubas WAY better. i play a 4-valve yamaha (school horn so it still sucks) and it gets a much better sound and less tuning issues than our king sousaphones. its kind of weird though...cause when i come back to school after the summer, i miss the sousaphone...but then i remember how crappy sousaphones are and all the problems that come with them...and the fact that i hate sousaphones may be a product of bein stuck with really cheap 12-year-old sousaphones...cause im sure that there are some out there that arent to bad to deal with but from my experience...i hate them! haha...this is my opinion therefore no one can trash talk me for expressin it...

In my opinion, I think a sousaphone should just be used for marching. But sometimes my school has to use a sousaphone for concert season if we run out of basic concert ones. I don't think they look as cool on a stage as they do on a field. ha ha.
