i played BBb tuba last year in a concert band. but now im playing a marching tuba for marching band. its a Jupiter something. i really dont know. i guess same key because its the same fingerings. and im using a Jupiter 24AW mouthpiece.

i found that i can play low notes fine. but if i play higher than middle Bb, the tone isn't the greatest. and i have never been able to play above the staff on any tuba.

obviously its me, not the tubas. i had absolutely amazing tone last year. but with summer, i was without a tuba for about a month. and my tone has suffered. i know it's not the tuba, because the other tuba player in band has amazing tone on the other tuba like the one i'm using.

I've looked through countless webpages to try to nail the problem, but i'm doing the same thing i did on my old concert tuba. i don't understand why my tone is so poor on this tuba.

help, please?
thank you
Erica
