Hello, people! I'm just new here and a rookie trumpet player also. Since I'm always working overtime, I don't have the time to take trumpet lessons. That results to me not knowing the correct ways to play. One of the things that concerns me is that sometimes when I play my lower lip turns a little blue. It doesn't hurt or anything, but, really, could you tell me just how serious this could be and what to do to avoid it? Does it influence my playing?
Thanks

It shouldn't influence your playing. It happened to me to. You might want to see if you are playing with a proper embouchure. Other than that i can't help you.

wow blue lips? I guess this would mean that you aren't getting enough blood circulation in your lips. Try buzzing your lips when you are playing...just loosely blow air through your lips to get the blood back in your lower lip. Make sure you aren't putting too much pressure on your lips when you are playing, this could be why your lip is turning blue. good luck
