I have always been interested in jazz but a cousin jam session and a new piano book has escalated my interests. Im hoping someone can help my choose a fun instrument that i can jam with and that has a more consistent learning curve. Things you should know, im in 8th grade, been taking piano for 9 years (still not too good) and I play the drums and bongos. Please just a fun jam instruments that can make me more of a jazzy kind of guy

Cool that you're into jazz! In my opinion, the best jam instrument is the piano. Other good ones are the electric guitar and the electric or upright bass. I suggest listening to videos of people jamming with those instruments. If it catches your interest, you should try them out! Good luck man!

I agree with piano. To play the piano (well), one has to know music theory really well. But it is really hard I think. Guitar is my close 2nd. But start with some blues if you haven't already. Master that first.

Thanks guys. This has only increased my inspirations to improve on the piano. I hope someday i may take another crack at the guitar (the first attempt was ill-fated due to my lack of any kind of music taste at the time)
