So, does anyone know how to start out with a jazz band? I`ve put together a few people and I`m writing music, but now what?

I had a jazz band... It failed. A word of advice, don`t get a rock drumer. He will just bang constantly and disrupt what you are trying to do. If you want to learn more about that band go here: www.geocities.com/jazzband5 I suggest that you start off with a fake book and improv around some classics. Then write music. I made the mistake off attempting to get original tunes in before we were established. Practice with them A LOT. After your good and have a decent repitoire, start getting a name for yourself. Play amoungest peers, play outside, build a website do what ever. If there`s anything else you need to know, I should be able to help.

Hello all,
I`m looking for bandmates too, but I don`t know anyone who plays a musical instrument or plays somewhat decent. I play trumpet, flute, guitar and drums. Please email me if your interested in starting a group, I`m also looking for someone to collaborate with me on the internet (I`ll explain what this means over the email if you send me a note). Email me at planettelex98@yahoo.ca
