Jamie Cullum is that new up and coming pianist/vocalist that mixes jazz and rock, right???? If so, i think he is taking jazz to a place where it hasnt gone before. Thats what a lot of jazz is all about. Evolving.

I think Jamie Cullum is quite fantastic. I have never really listened to jazz and he has turned me onto a new music genre. He has this energy about him and I hope he does very well. Good for him that he has brought jazz back again.

"Do you Know anything about the tour 2005 of Jamie Cullum?
Does he come to Spain?"

There are a few gigs lined up in July. One in Madrid, one in Barcelona.

Love Jamie, have been following his career for years. He`s a fantastic live musicians, the albums are a bit so-so. Live he`s great though and worth checking out.

i suppose you could classify them as blues. as to whether or not they are strictly classified as blues in the sense that they are based on the blues scale of a scale, i don`t know. i`d have to sit and figure it out. but there is some bluesy stuff on his album

Jamie is certainly extremely talented. He is also very brave in terms of what he writes and plays. Listening to his music (particularly live performances) I notice that he is unafraid to experiment with differing musical styles. Whilst his virtuosity is undoubtedly jazz-based, some of his melodies and bass lines are clearly pop and rock influenced. The most impressive thing, however, is his use of unusual chord progressions, which reflects something of the diversification currently affecting classical music. It takes serious guts to buck the trend the way he does.

Ok, so he doesn`t conform to the ideals of a classic jazz musician but he would be the first to admit that - he himself refers to his style as `prostituted jazz`. What he does do is to push the boundaries of what is acceptable to the ears of a modern audience. Nowadays people are bombarded constantly by music that theorists claim is all very similar. Basically the music industry now tends to stick with tried and tested formulae to ensure the financial success of investing in a new artist. Jamie Cullum is bravely attempting to re-introduce some variety in to what the mass market listens to.

Take it from me (as a degree level music student) that the more Jamie Cullums this world develops, the richer the musical legacy that we leave will be.

jamie cullum is excellent! i`m only 13 and he inspired me to start playing the piano(again) and write music. Because of jamie i`ve already composed 4 songs for my schools jazz band! Jamie`s music incorporates many styles of music and keeps you awake unlike some jazz music! i say JAMIE CULLUM FOR PRESIDENT!

I really like Jamie Cullum and I feel that he has inspired many young male piano players, such as myself to reach for the stars. I personally love his voice, and his style of jazz is new, refreshing, crisp, and so hey dadi-o

I am 15 yrs. old and I love Jamie Cullum! I have been a huge fan of his for a while now. I play piano so I really love the upbeat sound he creates. As for his voice I like that it`s rough,it makes the music a lot more interesting to here. He is a great preformer and a talented guy. I would say he is a friend no matter what the rest of you guys say!!
You rock Jamie!-lol

i think jamie cullum is gud at what he does, as a musician in cambridge u have to give credit to anyone who gets up on stage and entertain pplz, cos personally in this situation-CUD U DO BETTER???????,honestly do you have the same talent on a piano and cud u really sing in your own style like he does and come out with success.im not ranting even tho i sound like i am.grr.lol. and i must say not all people just like poop and rock(even tho that i do) i am widely open and listen to a lot of free style jazz-which rocks, and jamie cullum is doin something which knowone else has done other the past few years-MAKE JAZZ LIKABLE BY PEOPLE OF A YOUNG AGE, even my little brother loves him and thats cos of his stage presence aswell, his vocals may need twingeing a little, but its his character which comes through on stage. ive probably just said what everyone else has said, but this is my view.
everyone have a lovely day

No offense at all to whoever it was that said he had a bad voice, but i disagree strongly. I think he has a wonderful voice; never sharp, never flat, always right on key. i dont know what more to ask from a musician. His voice is perfect with his music, i havent noticed a moment in any of his songs that i could imagine it done any better. I`d definately says he`s a friend to jazz without a question.

JUST THINK ABOUT YOUR QUESTION. DOES`NT IT SMACK OF FEAR FROM THE START. I THINK CULLUM IS ONE OF THE MOST GIFTED YOUNG ARTISTS OF THE TIME. JUST BY PUTTING HIS NAME IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS THE WORD JAZZ LETS US KNOW THAT HE IS A FORCE TO BE CONSIDERED. IN THAT WORLD. ALL THE BEST TO HIM.
