We are currently working on organizing the Oberlin Jazz Dance Festival, a festival dedicated to promoting live traditional jazz of the 1920`s and 1930`s, the dances of the era, and the relationship of the two. This year`s festival will feature 5 live bands from across the country, as well as the foremost swing dance instructors from around the globe.

To put on this event, though, is a financial feat. We are dedicated to promoting live music, but big bands and other traditional jazz bands, being specialists in their field, are expensive. This year`s festival will cost us $15,000.

As a student organization, we do not have the funding required to put on an event of this scale. We are thus coming to you, true lovers of the music, and asking for your help. Interest in our event is large enough that if we were able to cover our costs for this year`s Festival with donations, we could fund our event perpetually in the future and would not need to solicit financial help for this event again.

If you can find it in your heart to help us achieve this goal by donating any amount that you are able, it would be greatly appreciated. Help us keep love for the music alive!
