well i play tenor sax but i find it is a great use for my time and i play it so much becasue..well...i love it! the alto sax is about the same only smaller and has a bit of a higher pitch but yes... i think u should get a teacher other wise u might get bad habbits which may be hard to break afterwards..but go for it they are great ionstuments! i love mine!
