I think it`s funny how Avril herself doesn`t know the music to Complicated. I think it should be called "Avril`s band`s song" since avril doesn`t actually play guitar and has the voice of a goat. Which is why she has somebody different sing on top of her on 6 tracks of Let Go.

When Avril learns how to write songs is the day I will give up water.

Avril does actually play guitar!! Just because she doesn`t know the music doesn`t mean anything, she may have just made up the guitar chords as she went along!

At least she`s better than people like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera who:
*Have never played a musical instrument
*Have zero fashion sense
*Cannot write lyrics or music
*Gasp their notes out in raspy little squeezed voices
*Jump ["dance"] around the stage like monkeys
*Do not wear [decent] clothes

And her songs don`t have dirty disgusting second meanings either.

silly, i dont care if she wrote it. the lyrics r crap. "she was a girl..he was a boy can i make it anymore obvious?" wat kinda lyrics r that??? there so light-headed. nobody cares, she cant sing so dont give her credit. if she can "write songs" she should go be a lyrisist, not an "artist". write "good lyrics" for other ppl, and not bother embarassing herself 2 sing. uh, pullease...

oh also why cut her slack? she knows entering the pop indurstry ur open 2 critisism. she`d make it big, if she actually did what shes good at. dunno wat that is but its gotta be sumthin.

Avril Lavingne is superly talented and i think you guys shouldnt judege people unless youre actually better than them so until you make it big and your name is another household word, then i might be ok with you saying that she sux and how she cant sing and stuff but while youre still just another person, i think you should respect her for having the guts to actually sing and the motivation to make it as far as she has, i superly respect her also because of the way she dresses. Unlike the other pop singers, she doesnt feel the need to be practically naked on stage and be "sexy". I completely respect her for that and i think more people should be like her

Well, if I was offered x amount of money to do wat avril does (even if i had no musical talent) i would do it so stop dissin her so much. She looks good and makes money doing wat she likes.

Well after reading what you all said i felt a need to reply.
Avril may not be the worlds best singer, thats true, but that doesnt make her bad. I really think she has made it far and all that, and i Do like her music. On the other hand i am a musician and a song writer myself and i know what it takes to write stuff. Most of her songs are ok for a first album. i think she has certanly made her point about such things. Although i will say that now that she is BIG i think she should work a little harder on her lyrics to keep em coming through the years. About her clothes, I do like the way she isnt like Britney in ways or originality. Im not sure how many of you remember that britney started out with Adidas sweatpants and pony tails, not to mention the school uniform. Just take a look at her on the MTV Music awards two years ago, singing with a body suit the same color of her skin, at least back then she was covered. And im not even gonna get started about the snake ... Anyway, getting back to Avril... About her clothes is cool except that now i think she is getting a little out of track. For all of you Avril lovers who are reading this dont get upset, yet. What i mean with this is that if you compare her with how she was in teh beginning she HAS changed and im not sure for good. Before she sometimes she would wear a tie, now she always does. Not to mention the way her whole attitude has changed, the way she lives up to her reputation and is always cussing and talking slang and even (im sorry to say) being disrespectful. These changes i dont like. I think she can do a lot of good for the music industry i just think she is gonna have to work a little harder now that she is famous. One more thing about her songs ... I think it would be good if she squeezed her brain a little and actually wrote a song that sounds like a studio song. What i mean with this is that most of her songs sound like she is playing them in a garage, not in front of an audience. She should write a song that sounds like it was made to be on the radio. So basicaly thats what i have to say about her. I think Avril is great, not perfect but we can all try to be a little better. Despite of that, i think she is going to be on radio for a while.
