The whole debate about whether she can or cannot write her own songs is something of another matter when she needs a translator for "difficult" questions in ENGLISH interviews. It`s not so unbelievable when you hear the number of times she says "stuff" and "like" when she speaks.

dudes.. avril sounds good on her album but cant sing for anything live.. who cares if artists write their own music? as long as they sound good then thats that. would u listen to crap artists just coz they write their own songs? avril is fake man u cant have like a mix of gothic bands etc, and wear punk sk8er clothing thats just g*y. start listening to good music like nirvana, nine inch nails, marilyn manson.. good stuff

AVRIL IS KOOL!! BUT
she cant sing. i luv avril and i can face the facts she aint the best and by the way. christina CAN WRITE LYRICS... she co-wroted and even WROTE All of her songs in "stripped" and her lyrics are meaningful and deepful as avrils are kinda childish and err... not "as close to the heart" or "as touching" as christinas

She`s just another one of those "Ashlee Simpsons`" Can`t you see past her "fame and fortune" that she is actually a talent less (At least musically) girl who is confused with her own lifestyle? Just because some of you out there like that "retro-punk" sh**, doesn`t mean you have to defend every artist that comes along and supports that particular genre. In my honest and utmost opinion... she sucks. I do though appreciate her drive to do what she does, but c`mon, the real musicians are Led-Zeppelin, KISS, The Beatles, The Doors, and what not. The ones who made it first. Singers/song writers these days have no taste and even more no true appreciation of what music is really supposed to be about. Not money and fame, though it`s nice, but purity with one`s self and a form of expression of feeling not ersatz and notions of falsehood. Who do you think will be remembered more 20 years from now? Led-Zeppelin, or Avril Lavigne?

P.S.)) Avril is not even her real name… It’s April. Plus she never wanted to be a punk singer; she wanted to be a country/pop singer. Don`t conform yourselves to society`s bounds of normality... Then again, what does it matter what I say. As sad as it may seem, it`s strange to think that I`m just another speck upon the face of God`s green earth and I`ll never be anything but. So, if you like Avril`s music, fine... but I have my outlook as well as you do... *sigh*
