Hey, I`m just a young rock fan who was not around during the early days. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some songs ?

(Old rock like "Turning Japanese", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Hey Jealousy", "Should I Stay or Should I Go ?" "Smells Like Teen Spirit")

Old rock? those songs listed are hardly old...(and most of them aren`t great either for that matter) check out some 60`s music if you want to hear the glory days of Rock`n`Roll

hey, i would actually recommend the 70`s rock even tho im only 18. its some good music.(alot better than the new punk sh*t or nu-metal!!!!)

Could you be specific ? What bands/albums/songs should I look for ?


Just got the a few Beatles albums, lovin it so far.

The Beatles are fantastic, you can`t go wrong there, I`d also recomend The Who, and Bob Dylan (Dylan was a big influence on the Beatles, especially John Lennon). The Stones have a few good albums and the first 6 Led Zeppelin albums are fantastic. And Then there`s the Kinks. But when it comes to the 60`s, The Beatles Bob Dylan and The Who are tops for me.

Also got London Calling and Never Mind the Bollocks...

I`d take the Clash and the Pistols over Blink 182, NFG, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Avril and the other so-called "punk" musicians.

The Who, Queen, Boston, Led Zeppilin, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Styx, Dire Straits, Chicago, I could go on forever on oldies, I am only 15 and I like the oldies tons more than the new stuff(most of it at least). And then of course the grand finale, my all time fave oldies band that you have to listen to, RUSH!!!!! It also depends on what kind of genre you are looking for, but most of the old stuff is good.

London Calling is a fantastic album, prephaps my all time favourite punk album, The Jam are are the only punk band I prefer to The Clash.

how about led zepplin w/ "whole lotta love" or "no quarter" or "dazed and confused" or "stairway to heaven" or"blackdog" or "communication breakdown?

how old do u mean? i`m 13 but i still know like every rock song from anywhere from the 50`s to early 90`s. r u into AcDc stuff or a little tamer? Like beatles or stuff? plz write back.

you got a good start man.... in my opinion if you wanna own old rock grabba led zeppelin, pink floyd, or doors album!!!!!!!!!!!for sure.. your gonna have to listen for a long time (and maybee with the help of illegal substance) to understand them but none the less they rock
