Hi, I`ve owned an Accoustic Guitar for quite a while, but I`m into rock and metal these days, and I was thinking about buying an electric or bass guitar for about 200-300 dollars. This may sound like a really dumb question, but I`m not interested in a band or anything fancy, but would I need to purchase an Amp seperately, or do they have a small one built in that I can just practice with? I don`t know much about them, I`m just really interested in getting one.

Also, could anyone reccomend a good brand of guitar in that price range?
