it really annoys me when i hear people talking about how great this song is or how its the greatest guitar riff of all time. for a start the opening riff the the structure and sound are a total rip off "spirit of radio " by rush from their permanant waves album original release from 1980 and guns and roses was far later in 1987 from the appetite for destruction album. dont get me the wrong way i like alot of guns and roses material but it just annoys me wen people start to rave about "sweet Child O` Mine

well...sweet child o mine is still a great GnR track. I don`t think it`s the best track ever or anything like that but it`s no rip off

Face it, GnR`s `Child` is a classic in heavy rock and Rush`s `Xanadu` isnt and even if it is a rip off as you beleive who gives a toss ? I`m happy for you to be the Apollo of Justice (I`m too busy enjoying my music to bother) but your point is simply moot.

yeah by the way if ur talking about the intro riff, i have heard this story from many people. Slash went into rehersal one time nad said "hey listen. This sounds like circus music." then he played the riff. He wrote it and it isnt a rip off.

I was tryna find something and i came across this conversation, and this is what i`ve got to say. You guys are stupid if you think GnR is ok. Screw all the other bands, all you need to know is GnR is a classic band, they are the best. No one in the future is gonna be as good as the one and only Guns & Roses. So take that and remember that. feel free to bitch at me.
