Hello,

I am starting on the piece "Turkish March" (not turkey-ish) by W.A. Mozart, and was wondering if anyone else played/plays it and had suggestions or just comments about the piece!

Thanks.

Oh I`m not even in grades, actually I only had lessons when I was about 9/10, and then I quit lessons and worked on my own, but I just play songs I like, and yes I probably have poor technique, but I do complete most things, and I am doing fairly well and I can play the whole song, just the speed is still slow. After doing it for like... countless times, I`m pretty sure I`ll catch up at least close to the speed.

hrmm... getting up to speed isnt always the case... having clearity while having it fast will be the hardest for you. I guess i can help you with sections or anything like that if you tell me what your having problems with.

Wow! Just watched Icarus' recording of his rendition of the Turkish March. Great technique, Icarus. I'm normally on the bassoon forum but just slipped over to here and got a great treat.

A comment on the speed: Following the fingering can be very important in some pieces of music. I personally have begun on Turkish March and find the suggested fingering very helpful.
