hey can anyone please tel me if they know where i can download the free finale notepad for testing music notation software.
also any other info on the best music notation software
can you automatically transpose using it?
and can it play back more than one independent line of what you have composed at once etc?

Towards the bottom there is a link to download the free version.
Regarding the best software, the two best are Finale (industry standard) and Sibelius (close second to Finale).

Oh, and yes, it can transpose and play back up to a full orchestral score. It does all that and much more. It`s what the pros (including publishing firms) use.

I use Sibelius 3 which I`d definitely recommend, it`s very easy to use and has basically most features you could ever want.
