Here is a review on the Mozart forum (www.mozartforum.com) of the book by someone who just ordered it. She has allowed me to re-post her comments.
i grabbed my little pile of mail the other day and set it on a desk
and opened the one large-ish item containing a copy of Memoirs by
Lorenzo da Ponte. many hours later i went to my little stack of mail
and there was a dainty cardboard envelope that i hadn't even noticed
prior to that time sandwiched between an envelope and a catalog. it
contained a CD, the ebook I had ordered: The Life and Work of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: A Philatelic Journey.
It displayed perfectly and easily on my desktop. the detail,
thoroughness, substantive information, and pictures that fill nearly
400 pages is impressive. There is a hefty amount to discover here in
addition to viewing stamps and everything else that is included. you
would be amazed to see how comprehensive this ebook actually is. It
is a charming travelogue, a history, a tribute to Mozart, stamp
collecting, and a great deal more.
in addition to the profusion of mozart stamps issued by different
countries over the years, there are finely-detailed stamps depicting
various locations to be found throughout the well researched book:
city scenes, palaces, churches, and buildings that figured in
mozart's travels, and also the major people associated with mozart.
Best of all, you can increase the size of any stamp and/or picture
and view the details close up as if they were under a magnifying
glass.
That this dear CD reveals a passion for mozart is obvious on each
carefully composed page. it is a great treasure. i look forward to
spending many more hours with it. I began today and completed the
first 50 pages.
