I`ve been playing the French Horn for 11 years. If your just starting I`ll tell you its an instrument you can love and hate. It has one of the most beautiful coloring effects for songs but it also has a tendency of always playing crappy offbeats for 80percent of all music. Some of the best Horn music Ive ever played is in duets and trios. Try to find other Horns and find a book called Wilhelm Wurm Horn Trios. Its fantastic and relatively easy.

hi, ive been playing horn for a few years now as well. Its too bad theres no specific horn forums or music on this site . Horn is a great instrument i would just suggest to stick with it if your beggining because it can be a frusterating start

Hi
I`ve been playing the horn for six years now and I`m 16 years old. I`m from Ireland and I`m doing a Dip.Abrsm on horn in June. I`m thinking about playing horn professionally and am abut to buy a horn of my own (I rent my horn at the moment). Any ideas or advice about good makes/models would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest you try Ebay. They sell plenty of horns at pretty good prices. I would suggest doing a little background check on the horn you are buying and whom you are buying it from.
