don`t make me laugh!! i`ve played the revolutionnary and i`ve been playing only for about 5 years not even seriously...it only LOOKS hard. personnaly i think that many bach stuff is way tougher than anything else!!chopin is much too musical to be really tough(velocity is one thing but...)the impromptu is way tougher you idiot

You should try Scherzo No.2 in B flat minor, that is, assuming that you are a level 12 (practically a virtuoso) it may sound weird but really good if you develop a taste for scherzi.

no..you`re not automatically a virtuoso just because you`ve achieved level 12. a virtuoso is so much more. they speak the music, they`re like, perfect. Take Horowitz. You wouldn`t compare him to a level 12 pianist would you?

I`m not sure who recommended the Grand Polonaise...but, that is EXTREMELY difficult to play...and play well. I`ve played since I was 7...I performed the Grand Polonaise my Senior year in HS...difficult!(and I competed at State levles) I even went on to major in piano...though...I`ve never heard of grade "this and that"...what is that about? My recommendation is listen to some Chopin...choose some you like...then, ask your instructor what is within your range. The etudes seem difficult in different ways to different people...it depends on your strengths and weaknesses.

i agree wit leslie...the Grande Polonaise op.22 is way to hard for a person who would ask a question, such as the one the girl posted. I played it my sophomore year in high school(last year), and trust me. It`s very hard. It is concerto repertoire, do not forget! I would suggest chopin waltzes or nocturnes. But etudes? It varies. And whoever said that the black key etude was the hardest, is way off. There is the a minor, op.10, the b minor op.25,a minor no.11 op.25, and the c minor no.12 op.25...i`d consider those the hardest..if there is more to add or if n e one would like to proove me wrong, do so
